Oakham Specsavers staff are raising their glasses to possible award in London




Staff at an opticians have been shortlisted for the Optician Awards.

Specsavers in Oakham is in the final stages of the national competition in the category 'multiple practice of the year'.

Mark Turner, store director at Oakham Specsavers, said: "We're absolutely over the moon to have been shortlisted. These awards are one of the highest accolades for optical professionals and practices, so to have made it through to the final few is an amazing achievement."

The Optician Awards has been running for more than 20 years and attracts the most talented opticians and eye-specialist companies.

The trophies are set to be presented at Grosvenor House Hotel in Park Lane in London on Thursday, December 2.

Mark said: "I’m thrilled that our hard-working team has been recognised for the work we do."

He added: "We’re all very much looking forward to the final in December and although we know we’re up against some stiff competition, we will be crossing our fingers that we can come away with a win."
