Oakham lantern walk celebrates the changing seasons
Lanterns brightened the streets and boosted community spirit as people paraded through Oakham town centre.
A Magical Lantern Walk took place on Sunday evening in celebration of the changing seasons.
It was the second year running that Clare Caro has hosted the event and she was delighted to attract around 200 people to the parade.
She said: “It was a lovely event which was even bigger and brighter than last year.
“Some people had made their lanterns at our workshops but others had made them at home so there was a wonderful variety.”
The parade set off from All Saints’ Church and ended at Oakham Castle where the group laid out their lanterns to create a spectacular scene of light.
Clare said: “It was a wonderful community event and I’m looking forward to bringing it back again next year.”
