Uppinham Hopper bus service sees a gradual return of passengers
A community bus service has seen a gradual uptake of its regular passenger service.
The Uppingham Hopper has returned to its normal timetable since shops started to reopen.
The bus had been used to deliver groceries and medication at the height of the pandemic.
Volunteer David Ainslie has seen about 20 per cent of his regular passengers return during the last few weeks.
He said: "We're running a proper passenger service again and people are slowly starting to come back.
"A lot of our passengers are elderly and they don't seem to be going straight back out. There's a lot of nervousness around."
The Rotary Club of Uppingham paid for a screen to protect the drivers.
