Healthwatch Rutland drop in at Ketton Library to hear patients concerns

Healthwatch Rutland dropped-in at Ketton Library to chat with NHS patients about their experiences .

Amy Crawford, community engagement officer for Healthwatch Rutland was there on Wednesday (January 11) to answer questions that locals had, and to offer help and advice on the services from the organisation.

“We’re really trying to be visible in the community”, Amy said. “We want very much to hear feedback about health and social care in Rutland because everything that the public pass on to us, we do then pass that on to commissioners and providers who can then hopefully make those changes in health and social care to make the experiences better for everybody.

“We can also give people free advice and information, or you have any questions or queries about the NHS and Healthwatch, then we’d love to help and we have free bags with information in them to give away.

“Healthwatch Rutland organise drop-in’s like this one all over the county of Rutland, and there is usually an event going on where people can come and talk with us – we’d be happy to see you.”

Healthwatch Rutland is the public’s health and social care champion. If you use GPs and hospitals, dentists, pharmacies, care homes or other support services, the organisation wants to hear about your experiences. As an independent statutory body, Healthwatch Rutland has the power to make sure NHS leaders and other decision makers listen to your feedback and improve standards of care. Last year Healthwatch helped nearly a million people to have their say and get the information and advice you need.
