Creme Hair and Beauty in Oakham and Alter Ego Hair Salon in Stamford look forward to reopening

People will finally be able to bid farewell to their ‘corona cut’ as businesses begin to reopen.

Hairdressers and barbers, including mobile businesses, will be able to reopen with precautions including the use of visors and hand sanitiser.

Chris Gunby, owner of Creme Hair and Beauty in Oakham, said that the phone has been ringing off the hook with people wanting to book in for a hair treatment.

He said: “We are very excited, it has been a long wait. We have spent a lot of time and money preparing the salon to be Covid-safe - or as safe as it can be.

“I think we have got more disinfectant than we have shampoo!”

This will be the first time since March customers have been able to get a professional haircut leaving Chris ‘interested’ to see what people will look like.

Creme Hair and Beauty will be implementing a one-way system as well as colour cards to mark when a seat has been used so therefore needs cleaning.

“The best thing will be seeing our clients and catching up with what they have been doing as well as doing some great hairstyles,” said Chris.

Claire Hastie, owner of Alter Ego Hair Salon in Stamford, said: “I am very excited to see people again and put money in my bank account rather than out of it.”

She added: “I am ready - I’ve been ready for ages.

“My salon hasn’t needed much change, we are super clean anyway.”
