More than 100 dogs competed against each other in a range of categories including waggiest tale and prettiest bitch at the Deepings Dog Show.

Prizes at the event, in Jubilee Park, Deeping St James, on Sunday, were handed out by Bert Murray, who played football for Chelsea in the 1960s.

Judging was carried out by gardener and broadcaster Daphne Ledward.

The annual event, now in its fourth year, is organised by the Friends of Jubilee Park.

Proceeds, which are still be counted, will be used to help fund ‘trim trail’ outdoor gym equipment for the park.

District councillor Judy Stevens said: “Despite a rain shower early on, it was a very successful day.”
