Tallington photographer David Glover jailed after taking secret videos of women with victims across Lincolnshire

A professional photographer who took secret photos and videos of women by using a camera disguised as an alarm clock in various studios has been jailed for 20 months.

David Glover, 48, of Tallington Lakes, Tallington, was working as a photographer at various studios in Peterborough and around the south of England between March 2011 and March 2017 - and was found with more than 900 covert videos, including footage of women undressing and using the toilet.

Some of his victims are from this area and police have described his actions as 'sickening'. All of the women involved have a legal right to anonymity.

Police say that in March 2014 a client’s partner noticed something strange about a clock in the changing room.

As his partner went for the photoshoot with Glover, the man returned to the changing room to take a closer look at the alarm clock, which officers said 'appeared to be strategically placed'.

On closer inspection he noticed the clock had a camera inside and also contained an SD card. He took the card and later showed it to his other half when they got home.

The footage showed Glover setting up the camera before the victim entered the room and got changed for her photoshoot.

A police statement said: "On noticing the SD card was missing, Glover texted the victim the following day and tried to suggest the clock belonged to someone else in the studio.

"The victim felt too scared and embarrassed to come forward at first, but eventually shared her findings with police years later when a friend encouraged her to do so."

Glover was then arrested at his home.

Upon arrest, officers found a removable hard drive in Glover’s coat pocket, which contained more than 900 covert videos.

A further search of his home unearthed more secret footage of women undressing and using the toilet in various studios and at his home. From this footage, officers were able to identify and approach some of the victims and obtain statements.

According to police, Glover claimed he was interested in covert filming and didn’t realise it was illegal.

However, he later pleaded guilty to five counts of voyeurism, and at Peterborough Crown Court on Monday (March 27) was handed a sentence of one year and eight months in prison.

He was also ordered to sign the sex offenders register for 10 years and given a sexual harm prevention order (SHPO) for the same time frame, to monitor any future offending. All devices found to contain videos of his victims were ordered to be destroyed.

Detective Constable Pete Wise, who investigated for Cambridgeshire Police, said: “The lengths Glover went to in order to covertly film women without their consent is sickening.

“I can only imagine how horrified and violated his victims must feel about being filmed in this way.

“I am glad that after three years of investigating Glover and gathering all the evidence, we have secured a result for those victims and hope this shows how seriously we take such offences.

“I would like to praise the victims for their courage in coming forward to assist us in bringing these charges to court.”
