Police name Peterborough woman who died in Rutland crash
Police have named the woman who died in a car crash on the A47 in Rutland as Parin Yusuf Ismail, 25, from Peterborough.
The crash happened near the junction with Station Road, South Luffenham, at about 9.35am yesterday (Tuesday, December 15). The collision involved two vehicles, a dark grey Mercedes and a blue Volkswagen Polo.
The driver of the Polo, Parin Yusuf Ismail, suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the other car was taken to Peterborough City Hospital and has since been discharged.
Detective constable Pete Davies is asking to speak to anyone who saw either the collision itself or the two vehicles being driven beforehand. Call 101.
The accident was the fourth fatal collision in less than a week on Rutland roads.
On December 9 Pte Warren Carter, 24, based at Kendrew Barracks in Cottesmore, died when the car he was driving collided with a lorry on the A6003 in Gunthorpe.
Four other men suffered serious injuries and were still in hospital at the time of going to press.
Just before 1am the following day (December 10) a man died after the car he was driving collided with a lorry on the northbound carriageway of the A1 near Stretton.
Then on Saturday a 52-year-old man was killed when the car he was driving collided with a lorry on the northbound carriageway of the A1 near Tickencote.
Neither have yet been named.
