Pop-up stall by For The Love of Scrubs Stamford Lincs/Rutland and Helping with Headbands raises £2,500 to support health workers
Two groups who make garments for frontline NHS workers raised more than £2,500 with a pop-up stall selling face coverings.
Volunteers with For The Love of Scrubs Stamford Lincs/Rutland and Helping with Headbands were swamped with customers on Ironmonger Street in Stamford on Saturday (July 18).
The event proved such a success they now plan to hold a similar one in Bourne on August 1.
All the money raised will be used to buy more materials to keep supplying scrubs, scrub bags, headbands and other items to hospitals and care home staff.
It comes after the Government announced face coverings will be mandatory in shops and supermarkets from Friday, July 24.
Miriam Davies, from the scrubs group, said: “It was absolutely amazing and we raised an almighty £2,526!
“A ginormous thank you from us all here at For The Love Of Scrubs Stamford, Lincs/Rutland and Helping with headbands. These generous donations will go straight back in to buy more fabric and supplies so we can continue making scrubs, hats, headbands, bags, extenders, and ear savers and face coverings for our NHS, healthcare, and frontline heroes.”
