Burghley Game and Country Fair returns this bank holiday weekend

The Burghley Game and Country Fair makes a return this bank holiday weekend with three days of family fun and entertainment.

The event has been extended from its usual two days to allow for better social distancing.

It really does cater for all ages and interests, with the chance to have a go at some outdoor pursuits, watch a show or just shop until you drop.

Arena activities include jousting, "chase the bunny" dog racing, falconry, dog displays and an angling demonstration.

There will be a "world of dogs" area for owners to buy doggy treats, talk to expert handlers and watch different breeds race against each other.

If you're looking to be part of the action, head to the "have a go" sports area for sessions in rifles, archery and clay pigeon shooting.

Elsewhere will be family entertainment, craft marquees, food stands, live music, chainsaw carving and a display of vintage machinery.

The event runs from tomorrow (Saturday) until Monday, May 31 at Burghley Park between 9.30am and 6pm.

Tickets are available online at: www.livingheritagecountryshows.com/tickets

They are priced at £4 for children, £15 for adults and £36 for a family ticket. Booking fees apply.

Covid restrictions will be in place around the site and for some of the activities on offer.
