Red Box Project Rutland sets up seven collection points in Rutland and Stamford to provide free sanitary products

A new project which provides free sanitary products for young people has set up seven collection points.

Oakham mum Gemma Maxwell introduced the campaign to Rutland and has now set up seven collection points for girls to access free products.

They are available at Catmose College, Casterton College Rutland, New College Stamford, Oakham Primary School, Visions children’s centre in Oakham and Graffiti Beauty and Natalie Dams Beauty in Stamford.

Girls who don’t otherwise have access to sanitary products can collect what they need from any of these places.

Gemma said: “The aim of the Red Box Project is to ensure the girls of Rutland are able to stay in school even when they’ve got their period.

“Let’s normalise periods and keep our girls in education where they deserve to be.”

Donations of products can be dropped off at Headway, The Hair Taylors, William Wheelwright Hairdressing and Rutland Farm Park in Oakham or Natalie Dams and Graffiti Beauty in Stamford.
