South Kesteven District Council to consider planning application for The Golden Lion Public House in Bourne




Plans to turn the Golden Lion Public House in Bourne into a private property have been received by South Kesteven District Council.

The proposal includes the construction of a house and the conversion of the pub into a single home.

Also included in the planning is the proposal for hard and soft landscaping.

Michael Dooley, the applicant, said: "There are lots of pubs currently in Bourne, with a Wetherspoon about to open and a new pub has been built near where McDonald's is.

"The last few people who ran it found it was not financially viable."

He added: "It would be better as a property."

The property is a Grade II listed building and is thought to have been built in the late 18th Century to early 19th Century.
