The Coach House Inn in South Luffenham becomes a Timothy Taylor Champion

A national brewer has inducted a Rutland pub into an elite club for expert servers.

The Coach House Inn in South Luffenham has been honoured with a commemorative plaque to confirm their membership of the Timothy Taylor Champions’ Club.

The Champions’ Club is reserved for permanent stockists who continue to go the extra mile it takes to serve the beer.

Emma Rose, owner of The Coach House Inn, has had Timothy Taylor’s 'Landlord' as the number one permanent ale since she first took over the business in April 2020.

Emma brought The Coach House Inn to the attention of the brewers by delivering strong and growing sales of the beer, and alongside her bar manager Jack Fletcher, they ensure it is consistently well-conditioned and served perfectly.

“We have an excellent cellar and a short line to the pumps so since we started we clean the real ale lines every week.

"Having a good line of barrels conditioning a few days ahead of use is key to serving a great pint or 'Landlord', so we can be proud of what we serve” said Emma.

“We try to have a high quality and interesting selection on the bar, so 'Landlord' sits beside Bake'rs Dozen of Ketton’s ‘Electric Landlady’, a gluten-free ‘Osprey’ from Oakham’s Grainstore Brewery, and guest ales from Baker's Dozen and Langton Breweries.

"We also have a lager from the film director Guy Ritchie’s microbrewery in Wiltshire.”

The Coach House Inn is the third Rutland establishment to be inducted into the Club alongside The Finches’ Arms on the Hambleton Peninsula and Don Paddy’s in Uppingham.
