Stamford School pupil George Worthington wins district stage of Rotary Young Chef competition




A Stamford School pupil has won the district stage of a young chef competition.

In November last year the Rotary Young Chef Annual competition, which was held at Stamford High School, saw a high standard of culinary skills and promoted the important life skill of cooking.

The winner of this round was year 9 pupil George Worthington, who moved on to the district stage of the competition at Thomas Deacon Academy in Peterborough.

On February 1, 16 entrants competed for a place at the ‘area round’ of the competition with George emerging as the winner again.

He was presented his winning certificated by freelance chef and competition head judge, Roger Sanderson, and Rotary District 1070 governor, Rodney Spokes.
