GCSE results 2021: Stamford Welland Academy pupils go 'above and beyond'
Students and staff at Stamford Welland Academy have celebrated GCSE success, with several outstanding individual performances.
Grades were decided using a combination of factors, including mock examinations and coursework, as well as attainment throughout the GCSE course.
Vicky Lloyd, headteacher of Stamford Welland Academy, said: “We are incredibly proud of our students who have truly gone above and beyond this year.
"The commitment and resilience they have shown, particularly during what has been an extremely challenging few years, has been inspiring and we are delighted to see this hard work reflected in their results.
“Thank-you to our amazing team who have continued to deliver a high standard of teaching with a rich and varied curriculum, and have kept our students motivated throughout the past few years.
"I wish all students the best of luck as they continue their educational journey and further success in their chosen career paths.”
Notable successes among pupils at the academy, part of the Cambridge Meridian Academies Trust, include Jenny Prescott who achieved three 9s, four 8s and a distinction*.
