Children at St Gilbert's Primary School receive dictionaries from Stamford Round Table
Pupils at St Gilbert’s School in Stamford have extra word-power at their fingertips thanks to a donation from the Round Table.
The club received money to buy new dictionaries for the school, which will be used to support their reading and writing.
Frances Dicker, head teacher, said the children are loving using dictionaries to improve their knowledge and understanding of vocabulary, and are always very excited when they come across a new word to use in their work.
“On behalf of the children, we would like to say a very big thank you for this very kind and generous donation,” she added.
Families of children at St Gilbert’s Primary School in Stamford have also donated £442.69 to Stamford Foodbank.
Receiving the cheque, Jean Asher said the donation will help with the foodbank’s support for people living in Stamford and the surrounding area. The foodbank relies entirely upon donations and has supplied more than 6000 food packages since 2012.
