RAF Wittering offers condolences to family of serviceman David Kenwright




RAF Wittering has offered its condolences to the family of senior aircraftman David Kenwright.

SAC Kenwright, based at RAF Wittering, was discovered in the River Welland in the Water Street area of Stamford yesterday.

Today (Tuesday, March 10), a spokesman for RAF Wittering said: "It is with great sadness that Royal Air Force Wittering has learnt of the death of one of our personnel.

"Our thoughts are with his family, friends and colleagues at this terrible time and we ask that their privacy be respected."

He said that as Lincolnshire Police were still carrying out an investigation it would not be appropriate to comment further.

SAC Kenwright had been missing since Saturday (March 7) when he was last seen leaving The Golden Fleece pub in Sheep Market. Water Street was cordoned off for much of yesterday, while police were at the scene.

Lincolnshire Police said they were treating the death as unexplained.
