Bourne-based Freckleface Home Fragrance won award at Makers Market at RHS Hampton Court Garden Festival

A Bourne-based business has been recognised for its innovative ideas on how to recycle packaging.

Freckleface Home Fragrance, which has a store in Stamford, attended Makers Market at RHS Hampton Court Garden Festival to display ideas on how to re-use and recycle packaging for its products.

It’s now been recognised as the ‘best trade stand’ - an achievement which comes with an engraved vase and an automatic space at next year’s show.

Tara Carlile-Swift, managing director and owner of Freckleface, said: “We were simply delighted to have just been invited to exhibit at this prestigious show, never did we expect to win best trade stand. It really is testament to the whole team who all worked so hard to help us get there.

“We are thrilled to have showcased our handmade products at the show, we still can’t believe that we have gone from our kitchen table to all of this in just three years.

"We would also like to thank all of our local customers who have supported us from the beginning.”

Tara started the business with her son Noah three years ago, and has now expanded to a workshop in Bourne where they employ 13 people.

A key part of the business is being environmentally friendly, with vegan products, plastic-free packaging, and fragrances designed around nature a well as sourcing ingredients as close to home as possible.

Tara said: “Bringing ethical wax melts and home fragrance to the high street is our passion and we won’t stop until we are on every high street.

“We now stock into 300 stores and garden centres all over the country and have three shops of our own - Stamford, Cambridge and Leeds.”

The Freckleface team will be at RHS Tatton Park next week then at RHS Chelsea later in the year, where they ‘are shocked to have been invited to exhibit’.
