The garden centre was set up in 1948 by Fred and Ivy Gates within a Victorian kitchen garden belonging to Cold Overton Hall, and now houses more than 12,500sq m of leisure and retail facilities.

A spokesman said: "We have always been proud of our Christmas displays and it's wonderful to be officially recognised by the Garden Centre Association (GCA) as the best destination garden centre in the Midlands region and one of the top three garden centres in the UK.

"Thank you to our team for all their hard work and passion that goes into our Christmas displays."
