Police will continue to monitor traffic through Brooke and Ridlington until the A6003 reopens on July 5.
Extra patrols were introduced as a result of drivers seeking alternatives to the official diversion route during Network Rail’s bridge work at Manton.
Only one minor collision has been reported to police in those villages since the road was first closed on April 12.
