Barrowden in Rutland has been named in the 50 best villages in the UK by The Sunday Times.

Published yesterday (Sunday, September 12), the list mentions Barrowden and says "nowhere does smart, hearty rural living better than England's smallest county".

It says the village offers a "pretty pond and patchwork of village greens surrounded by timeless stone houses" and describes the village as a "friendly place".
