Sue, the deputy chairman of Uppingham in Bloom, said: "This event proved to be very popular as all the numerous plants on sale were sold.

"We raised a fantastic sum which will help towards the cost of keeping this beautiful town blooming.

"The bloom team volunteers were all on hand to help and are very grateful for the wonderful support of everyone who attended, supplied plants and purchased.

"Our special thanks to Welland Vale Nursery in Uppingham and Tesco in Oakham whose donated plants were readily snapped up!"
