For Rutland hosts good and new clothing sales to promote sustainable fashion and raise thousands for Citizens Advice
Organisers of a second-hand clothing sale hope the public's growing passion for sustainable fashion will boost their profits.
The For Rutland charity kicked off its biggest fundraising drive of the year with the men's good and new sale on Friday evening last week.
Shoppers browsed the rails in Pillings Road, Oakham, in the hope of picking up a bargain.
For Rutland committee member Caroline Hammond said: "The men's sale is perfect for those who would rather shop on their own than go to the big sale and it attracts some very loyal supporters."
Profits from the men's sale are still being counted this week and volunteers are also busy preparing for the main sale.
It starts on Friday (March 6) at Barnsdale Lodge Hotel with a ticket-only preview.
The £20 entry fee includes champagne, canapés and the opportunity to browse some of the best picks.
The main sale takes place on Saturday, March 7 from 8.30am until 1pm. Admission is £5 on the door and all clothes will be half price.
Caroline said: "Sustainable fashion is very important to people now and we've got some fantastic quality items. You can pick up an incredible bargain."
Last year's sale raised more than £50,000. Proceeds go towards funding advisors at Citizens Advice.
