Edenham Primary School is rated 'Good' by Ofsted

A village primary school is celebrating a ‘good’ Ofsted report.

Ofsted said that Edenham Primary School has maintained its good education since it was last visited in 2011.

The school has recently undergone many changes, with new leadership and it joining the Lincoln Anglian Academy Trust.

Praise was given to executive headteacher Alison Flack and head of school Michael Pasqualino for improvement plans and their determination.

Ofsted said the school’s Christian ‘core values’ were embraced by pupils.

“Pupils are taught in mixed -age classes and provided with a rich curriculum including a range of opportunities to work outdoors.

"Communication with parents and carers has recently improved and there is considerable support for the school in the local community.

“Since the last inspection, leaders have successfully improved pupils' skills and confidence in writing.”

Pupils' progress was closely monitored and staff training has improved.

Ofsted also commented: “Positive attitudes to learning and high expectation of good behaviour are set out in school policies and promoted through assemblies and displays in classroom.

"Behaviour is typically good in classrooms and social spaces.”

Mrs Flack and Mr Pasqualino said everyone at the school was delighted with the report.

They continued: “For it to be recognised that children have a great start to their time at our school, and then move through the classes finishing their time with us showing enthusiasm in lessons is fantastic.

“All members of the school, pupils and all staff have worked incredibly hard over the last 12 months to ensure our children receive the education and experiences they deserve.”

The report follows ‘very pleasing’ SATs results, with some results above average.
