Second crash on the A1 near Peterborough

2.30pm: The A1 northbound at Wansford is blocked after a second crash in the space of a few hours.

The accident happened at about 2pm this afternoon near the A47 turning. Emergency services are at the scene and traffic is held up while the vehicles are cleared.

It is not yet known if anyone was hurt.

The road was closed earlier today after a serious accident on the slip road at junction 17. The road was closed for several hours, leading to delays on the A1(M) northbound.

This section of the road has now been reopened. Police have warned people to drive to the conditions.
