Shop front in Stirling Road, Stamford, destroyed in ram raid

A shop front has been destroyed in a ram raid.

Police have cordoned off the area outside Booze 4 Less in Stirling Road, Stamford, this morning (Tuesday).

The incident is believed to have happened in the early hours and to have involved the theft of a cash machine, which was set into the front wall of the shop.

A neighbour said: “I was woken up at 3am by flashing lights and thought it would be an ambulance. I never expected to see a big dumper out there.

“It was still there at 5am but I guess the police must have taken it away.”

The woman said a similar incident happened at the same property 35 years ago when it was a post office.
