Mobility aid showroom opens at Waterside Garden Centre in Baston
A family has opened a new showroom in Baston to showcase a range of mobility aid products.
The Ability Shop is open at Waterside Garden Centre to provide better customer service for people looking to buy mobility aids.
The business is run by father and son team Rob and James Thorpe.
Rob used to work as a bathroom fitter and James was a firefighter before suffering an accident which left him in a wheelchair.
The new business venture combines their different experiences to offer a better service for customers who want to see the products before they buy.
Rob said: “Elderly and disabled people can get ripped off buying cheap rubbish that they haven’t seen.
“Everyone should be able to have access to as much independence as possible and be able to view the options available before making purchases that could otherwise not be suitable.
“We have had lots of good reports since opening.”
