Stamford sisters set up Daisy Grove in hope to be next Jo Malone
Sisters hoping to be the next ‘Jo Malone’ have launched a lockdown-inspired business.
Emily and Anna Rowell set up Daisy Grove to make up for a loss of income due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The concept came about through Emily’s love for aromatherapy and Anna’s interest in candle-making.
Anna, who works for the civil service, said: “It was set up in August as something that came from lockdown.
“My sister is a yoga teacher so was unable to work throughout most of the year.
“She began to make aromatherapy products and I had been making candles throughout lockdown.”
The pair, who live in Stamford, have focused on ensuring that the products are cruelty-free, natural and vegan.
“There has been lots of trialling of wax,” said Anna.
“We wanted to make sure it was right because some burns quite quickly.
“We started doing lots of experiments like scientists trying to get the best products to sell.”
For many people, working with family is their worst nightmare but for Emily and Anna, combing their skills was a perfect decision.
Anna said: “We are really close anyway and we haven’t been able to spend a huge amount of time together this year.
“My sister lives on her own so we bubbled up - it was nice to spend a bit more time with eachother.
“We are very different as people so it’s good to be able to come up with different ideas.”
