South West Lincs Care Consortium to hold public event

A partnership scheme between care organisations has invited people to find out about the support available at an open event.

The South West Lincs Care Consortium will host the event at Stamford Arts Centre from 2pm to 4pm today.

The consortium, which was formed over the summer, comprises organisations from Stamford and Bourne, including the Evergreen Care Trust, the Butterfield Day Centre, Dementia Support South Lincs and Christians Against Poverty.

Among its aims are for members to work together to promote each others’ services to make it easier for people in vulnerable situations to access them.

The consortium has the support of Stamford and Bourne MP Nick Boles (Con).

Evergreen founder Louise Marsh said: “We felt that it was important, given that health and social care is such a challenging area, to support each other. We decided we needed to work more closely together so we created the consortium.”

Today’s event will give people the chance to find out more about how the consortium can help them. It is targeted at adults who find themselves in a vulnerable situation at any time in their lives.

“We hope it will make a real difference to local people and become a really valuable resource,” said Louise.

“We’re very excited and will continue to meet every month.”

The consortium could expand to include the Deepings in the future.
