Rutland Cycling supports Uppingham Community College Fire Relief Sportive
A sporting event is set to be held to raise funds for a school devastated by a fire .
The Uppingham Community College Fire Relief Sportive, organised by WildDog Events, is set to take place on Sunday, October 18.
The £25 entry fee for the 22 or 55-mile cycle ride will go to the school after a fire devastated a three-storey block last month.
Rutland Cycling is supporting the event with sponsorship, goody bags and a pop-up mechanical workshop on the day for last-minute adjustments and checks.
Paul Rymer, Rutland Cycling hire manager, said: “Many of our staff have attended UCC in the past or have family currently at the college and we are delighted to support this community fundraising sportive, to help bring the community together at this difficult time and to help raise as much money as possible for the school.
”
WildDog Events and participating sponsors will be ensuring that Covid precautions follow the latest Government guidelines.
