Lakeside Healthcare in Health Service Journal (HSJ) Partnership Awards for Doctrin consultations used in Stamford and Bourne

Lakeside Healthcare reached an awards final for the way its staff members carry out online consultations.

The national Health Service Journal (HSJ) Partnership Awards, presented for ‘health service excellence’, recognised how the online platform called Doctrin is used in its surgeries, including for patients in Bourne and Stamford.

Lakeside is one of the first UK healthcare providers to use Doctrin, which was developed in Sweden and allows patients to have an online chat with a doctor or another appropriate member of the healthcare team.

More than 125,000 Doctrin consultations have been carried out with Lakeside patients so far.

The Hereward Practice in Bourne achieved the highest patient ratings in Europe, with 98 per cent of respondents saying they were treated with compassion and 96 per cent happy to recommend the platform.

Dr Thomas Ashley-Norman from The Hereward Practice, along with colleagues and delegates from Doctrin, attended the awards ceremony in London.

He said: “The night was a celebration of all the great work and innovation in healthcare around the country, so for us and Doctrin to be in the final was a huge accolade to our working partnership.”

Thanking colleagues at Doctrin, Lakeside practice teams and patients, he added: “Patients’ uptake and feedback has really demonstrated the positive impact that this digital platform has made.”
