Hannan's Spicy Cuisine in Uppingham is in line for Leicester Curry Award

An award-winning chef is in the running for another accolade.

Abdul Hannan (pictured), who runs Hannan’s Spicy Cuisine takeaway in Uppingham, was named Midlands Chef of the Year after a cook-off at the O2 Arena in London.

Now his business is a finalist in the Best Takeaway category of the Leicester Curry Awards 2022.

Abdul said judging is based on customer experience and that he is grateful for the strong customer support his restaurant enjoys.

Popular dishes at Hannan’s Spicy Cuisine include traditional Bangladeshi food as well as classic favourites - tikka masala, korma, and tandoori chicken.

Winners will be revealed at an awards ceremony on September 26.
