Clare Kavanagh from Kavanagh's Tea Room in Oakham to release gluten free cook book
Coping with coeliac disease can't be much fun, and Clare Kavanagh went through it for many years struggling to find the right foods to eat.
So, to solve her problem - and that of many others - she is compiling a gluten-free cookbook.
Clare, 44, who has owned Kavanagh's Tea Room in Oakham for two-and-a-half years, is releasing her first cookbook.
The book includes gluten-free recipes, which use ingredients that can be purchased at supermarkets.
Clare has had coeliac disease for 17 years and her youngest child has also inherited it.
She said: "When you have people in the family who are coeliac, you're drawn to places you know are safe."
Clare, a complete cake lover, was also concerned about the lack of places where she could indulge her passion.
Money for the cookbook is being raised through a crowdfunding page.
Those who pledge money get treats in return such as free cookbooks, afternoon tea and bakery boxes, depending on the amount donated.
Clare's partner Martyn Baynes, 36, who is co-owner of Kavanagh's said: "It's not a case of blankly giving money, we want to say thank you to those who will help us."
The cookbook is full of easy-to-make recipes and even includes Clare's well-renowned gluten-free scone recipe.
Clare created more than 25 variations of the scones before settling on the final recipe which has been described as 'beautiful' by the Women's Institute.
Clare said: "The recipes are 16 to 17 years in the making.
"I've always wanted to write a cook book and people kept asking for my recipes."
The couple aims to release the cookbook before Christmas so that people can give it as a present.
When released it will be stocked in the gift shop at Burghley House, Walkers bookshop in Stamford High Street and at Anglesey Abbey near Cambridge.
Over Halloween there is a Ministry of Magic room in the downstairs of their tea room where people can enjoy Philosophers' scones, Slytherin sandwiches and butterbeer.
The room is Harry Potter themed and includes flying letters, invisibility cloaks, wands, potions and a Dementor.
Kavanagh's will have a pop-up tea room inside a festive marquee at the Burghley Christmas fair.
Clare also holds one-to-one cookery classes for people to choose what to make and take the finished product home.
They have also held murder mystery evenings and gin tastings.
The tea room serves afternoon tea, high tea, a variety of cakes and sandwiches all of which can be made to be gluten free.
Clare said: "We pride ourselves on giving people gluten-free products without knowing it's gluten free."
