Bourne scouts enjoy a drumming workshop as lockdown forces them to meet online
Lockdown has forced people to come up with innovative new ways to spend their time with whatever resources they have at home.
Luckily for these children, all they needed was a saucepan and spoon to join an online drumming workshop with friends.
Beavers, cubs and scouts from across Bourne logged on to watch Max Anderson-Hopkins lead the Drumming's Cool session.
Children from Ringstone Beaver colony, Pillar Wood and Foxwood Cub packs and Abbey and Shippon Scout troops took part.
Leader Carolyn Greig said: “Scouting is all about giving young people an opportunity to learn skills for life and have exciting new experiences.
"Holding our meetings online has been a challenge but scouts live for a challenge and we all got involved.
"The last eight weeks have been a huge success and opportunities such as those offered by Max at Drumming’s Cool have meant that we can still offer a really varied programme utilising experts from all over the country."
Sarah Taylor, whose son Lloyd took part, added: "It was brilliant fun and we all had a great time. I think I enjoyed it as much if not more than Lloyd did."
Group leaders said they will continue to offer online activities until lockdown restrictions are lifted and they can return to meetings as normal.
Beavers are taking part in a sunflower growing competition and cubs are growing their own beans. They may also hold a virtual camp.
