Temporary changes to the Uppingham Hopper Bus service
Users of the Uppingham Hopper Bus are being made aware of temporary changes to the service.
They will be in effect from Monday, June 15, until further notice in order to conform to the latest advice from the Community Transport association (CTA).
The changes are:
There will be a normal scheduled service provided but the Hopper timetable will be subject to changes at short notice in order for us to support the wider community.
Passengers travelling should therefore make the driver aware of the approximate time that they are expecting to make any return journeys, in order to assist with planning the support that the Hopper can give to the
Uppingham community.
Operators are happy to carry passengers who do not exhibit any of the symptoms of Covid 19 or are not in a household with others who either exhibit such symptoms or have chosen to self-isolate as a precaution.
Face coverings must be worn by all passengers on the Hopper Bus and access to the vehicle will be refused by the driver if people do not comply with this rule. There will be a small supply of face masks for sale on the
bus at the cost of £1 per mask.
Passengers must observe the appropriate social distancing guidelines issued by the Government and passengers are asked not to sit in adjacent seats unless they are from the same household.
Anyone with queries about the operation of the Uppingham Hopper can call 01572 495050.
In addition to the above the team is continuing to offer a shopping /medical supplies delivery service as previously advised and again people should telephone 01572 495050 to access this service.
The Hopper team said: "We would like to thank all our customers and our volunteers for their understanding and support during these difficult times and hope to resume our full normal service as soon as possible. Stay safe."
