Litter picking and bulb planting in Wothorpe and St Martin's Without

A group of villagers are helping to tidy up the area.

A day of litter picking and bulb planting took place in Wothorpe and Sr Martin's Without, organised by parish councillor Simon Robinson.

Sixteen full bin bags of litter were collected, which will be analysed by the charity Recoup to see if there are lessons to learn from where the litter came from and its biodegradability. This will be part of a wider study which is being carried out by an environmental charity in conjunction with many other parishes.

More than 3,000 crocus and snowdrops bulbs were also planted along the main road into Stamford.

The bulbs were donated free of charge by a number of suppliers including Wothorpe Nurseries.
