Plans for 23 homes off Falcon Way near Tesco in Bourne

Twenty-three homes have been proposed for a vacant development site in Bourne.

Jason Murray of EFR Construction wants to build the properties on a 0.34ha site off Falcon Way.

The scheme would provide eight two-bedroom homes, five three-bedroom homes and six one-bedroom flats.

Four one-bedroom flats would be provided as social housing.

The planning application that has been submitted to South Kesteven District Council says the site already has outline planning approval for 19 homes that was agreed a year ago.

However, this latest proposal promises to “improve the quality of the proposals”.

The application describes the land as a ‘windfall’ site suitable for housing.

It is well within the built-up area of Bourne, which, due to its location, makes it ‘highly sustainable’.

The homes also promise to be ‘highly efficient’ in their energy use.

Falcon Way already comprises several new homes and the Abbey Court Care home. To the north is Bourne's Tesco superstore.

The application says the development would 'enhance the landscape', fit in well with the area and not harm any heritage or cultural assets.
