Former Apprentice candidate Kadija Kalifa opens her new café and soft play centre Full of Beans Bourne
A new café and soft play centre has hit the spot with parents and children alike.
Khadija Kalifa, a former Mercury Business Awards winner and candidate on BBC programme The Apprentice, opened Full of Beans Bourne on Saturday.
She was joined by her close friend and celebrity guest Leanne Brown, the wife of former Manchester United player Wes Brown, who starred in the Real Wives of Cheshire.
Khadija had hoped to welcome businesswoman Linda Plant, who she met on The Apprentice, but Linda had to pull out because of the latest coronavirus restrictions.
Despite the limited numbers, the opening was a huge success with families queuing up to get a first glimpse of the new business.
Khadija said: “We’ve had a brilliant reaction. There was lots of laughter from the children and great reviews from the parents.”
The opening day was the first time Khadija’s investors had seen the building and they were so impressed they have already agreed to help her open a second branch in North London.
Khadija hopes the café will become a hub for fellow mumpreneurs to catch up on work while their children play in beautiful surroundings.
She wants it to be “the most Instagrammable place in Lincolnshire”.
Khadija, who was one of the final five contestants in the 2018 series of The Apprentice, is the ultimate mumpreneur herself. Her youngest daughter Anayyah was just 10 days old at the official opening of Full of Beans Bourne.
The mum-of-three spent the last few months juggling pregnancy, looking after her older daughters Taaliya and Sorayah and launching the new business.
She said: “After going on The Apprentice, you can master any task. So much can be done online these days and babies sleep a lot during the day, so as long as you put your mind to it, you can do anything.
“I knew Bourne needed something like this and I’m so glad I’ve done it.”
Full of Beans is located on Elsea Park next to the Co op and Barnardos charity shop.
