Browne's Hospital in Stamford hosts Makers Mews event
An event showcasing ‘maker's talents’ was popular with Stamford shoppers.
Makers Mews, a two day fair held in Browne’s Hospital, featured a variety of hand crafted items made by independent businesses.
Zoe Noyes, organiser, said: “We had a good flow of people both days.”
She added: “We were pleasantly surprised at how many people did come, because of the coronavirus.”
The day saw 12 ‘makers’ sell items such as organic candles, fused glass and jewellery.
Zoe estimated that about 250 people attended last Friday and Saturday and about £500 was raised.
The money will be donated to the charity Mind, which has a shop in Stamford, to go towards its Mums Matter campaign.
A coffee and cake sale and raffle helped to raise further money at the event.
Zoe said: “We had a really good couple of days.”
“We hope to see similar support for events in the future,” she added.
