UPDATED: Arrested man released "under investigation" following social media posts

Leicestershire police have released a 72-year-old man from Oakham who was arrested in relation to a number of comments made on social media.

A police spokesperson said the arrest on Wednesday was made "under the Communications Act 2003".

The comments, which were said to be inappropriate in their nature, were reported to police on Monday, July 16.

A police spokesperson said: "The man, from Oakham, was released under investigation on (Wednesday) afternoon."
