UPDATED: Woman airlifted to hospital after crash in Stamford




A woman was airlifted to hospital after a crash on New Cross Road, Stamford, on Wednesday (January 2).

A car and van crashed at the junction with Sussex Road at 11.45am.

The air ambulance landed on the Recreation Ground and transported the car driver to Queen’s Medical Centre in Nottingham.

The accident occurred at the junction with Sussex Road and Cliff Road.

Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue received a call at 11.48am and dispatched one fire engine to the scene.

The air ambulance landed on the Recreation Ground at around 12.15pm.
