Roadworks will take place on the A606 and A47 in Rutland this week

The A606 between Whitwell and Barndale will be closed on Saturday (June 19) for resurfacing.

The road is currently part of the diversion route for the A6003 bridge work at Manton.

The A47 west of Uppingham will also be closed on the same day.

County councillor Lucy Stephenson (Con) said: “We realise these road closures are an added inconvenience while the diversion on the A6003 is still in place. However, it is not possible to delay surface dressing at these other locations until after the A6003 reopens because the timing and weather conditions are critical.”

On Thursday (June 17) there will be work on Main Street, Greetham, Burley Bushes, Exton and the B668 at Barnsdale.

On Friday (June 18) the A6003 between Uppingham roundabout and the Harley Davidson garage will close.
