Win tickets to the Stamford Showstoppers' performance of Footloose at the Stamford Corn Exchange Theatre
Stamford Showstoppers are out to prove that dancing isn’t a crime, but missing their latest show certainly would be.
The theatre group is back with a sizzling stage performance of Footloose.
Based on the 1980s movie, it tells the story of city boy Ren who arrives in a small American town to discover rock n roll and dance have both been made illegal.
Breaking every taboo, Ren brings dance back to the heart of a town which has been held back by the memory of a tragedy.
The musical score is sure to get audiences singing along, with anthems such as Holding Out For A Hero, Let’s Hear It For The Boy and the title track Footloose.
As an amateur group, the Stamford Showstoppers have cemented their reputation for fancy footwork, impressive vocals and an all-round exceptional performance.
Their most recent stage successes include Priscilla Queen of the Desert, Cats and Chicago, plus the new musical Sparkling Eyes which they also performed in Cambridge.
Performances of Footloose will take place at Stamford Corn Exchange Theatre in Broad Street from Thursday, September 22 until Saturday, September 24.
The show starts at 7.30pm each night with a Saturday matinee at 2.30pm.
Tickets cost £18 (£17 for concessions) from www.stamfordcornexchange.co.uk
