Building work has started at Gates Garden Centre in Cold Overton to create a new farm shop

Builders are working on an extension at Gates Garden Centre in preparation for opening a farm shop.

It will stock local produce including meat from the garden centre's own farm in Cold Overton and Hambleton Farms.

The shop will also have a delicatessen, cheese counter, bakery, fresh produce, alcohol, ready meals, a self-service oil dispensary and a granola bar.

The food hall will be built on the wooded area to the right of the main car park.

It is expected to open by the end of the summer.
