  • Book signing - Vista charity book shop, High Street, Oakham, from about 10am. Local author Alec Crombie will be signing copies of his book, Become the Wind. The store is also marking its seventh anniversary.
  • Stamford Comedy Club - Stamford Corn Exchange at 7.30pm, featuring Tez Ilyas, Esther Manito, David Luck and Ben Norris. Tickets £16.50 from www.stamfordcornexchange.co.uk or 01780 766455.
  • The Groove - Stamford Arts Centre ballroom - 7pm to 9pm. An exciting, fun-filled night for adults with disabilities aged 16+, their families and support workers. Wheelchair access is available. Tickets £3.50 (support workers free) from box office on 01780 763203.
  • Glorious art exhibition - Stamford Arts Centre, 10am to 4pm and 6pm to 8.30pm. Featuring 10 local artists and paintings in all mediums, photography, sculpture, ceramics, calligraphy, mosaics and glass. Artists’ talks and demonstrations. Free entry. Until July 3.
  • Summer flower festival - St James Church, Gretton, until Sunday. Displays to celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.
  • Rutland Beer Festival - 11am-8pm, Rutland County Museum, Oakham. £10 admission package on the door. Tutored beer tasting at 3pm and brewing film at 8pm.

Saturday, June 25

  • Open garden - Home Farm, Little Casterton Road, Ryhall (PE9 4HA) opens as part of the National Garden Scheme from 1pm to 5pm. Admission £5, children free. Home-made teas available. Details at www.ngs.org.uk
  • Oakham Pride Festival - midday until 5pm, Oakham Castle and grounds. Live music, stalls, food and children’s entertainment. Meet in Cutts Close at 11.30am for a pride walk ahead of the event.

  • The Deepings School of Dancing - Recharged 2022 at 5pm. Tickets £12 or £9.50 concessions from www.stamfordcornexchange.co.uk or 01780 766455
  • Jane Schofield craft workshops - Stamford Arts Centre art room, 10am to 12.30pm. Bead and button hearts
  • Gretton Charity Sportive - 50km or 100km cycle routes raising money for The Travers Foundation

  • One A’Chord - 25 piece singing group, present their summer concert at Barn Hill Methodist Church, Stamford, at 7.30pm. Entry is free but a donation to Evergreen Care Trust appreciated.

  • Band concert - Cutts Close, Oakham, 2.30pm to 4.30pm. Free admission.

  • Open gardens - Easton-on-the-Hill, 11am and 4pm. Tea and cakes in the village hall. There will also be Pimms and plant stalls in various gardens. Tickets £5 from the village Hall, under 15s free. Proceeds to T21 Down’s syndrome charity, EOTH Village Hall and EOTH Horticultural Society. Stroll round our beautiful village and visit the Priest’s House, All Saints Church and Peace Garden as well.
  • Bisbrooke Dog Show and Mini Fete - The Paddock, Church Lane, Bisbrooke, from 1pm. Dog registration from 12.30pm.
  • Quilts and Pics exhibition - Gretton Village Hall, 10am to 4pm. Creative paintings and quilts on display, refreshments available.
  • Rutland Beer Festival - midday to 4pm, Rutland County Museum, Oakham. £10 admission package on the door. Music by D’Ukes of Rutland.
  • King’s Cliffe Heritage Centre open - 2pm to 5pm, 27 Bridge Street, PE8 6XH.
  • Ahimsa Farm Open Day - midday to 4pm, Chater Valley Farm, Pinfold Lane, Pilton. Vegetarian lunch included, tours of the site, meet the cows and attend a taster workshop. Free.

Monday, June 27

  • Afternoon tea, chat and activities - 2pm to 3.30pm, United Reformed Church Hall, Broad Street, Stamford. Part of Evergreen Care Trust’s Building Better Mental Wealth.

Tuesday, June 28

  • Friendship tea - 2pm to 3.30pm, Stamford Methodist Church, Barn Hill. Evergreen volunteers supply tea and cake, and Dementia Support South Lincs offering advice as needed. All welcome.
  • Afternoon teas, chat, board games and opportunity to bring art and craft work. Stamford Free Church, 2pm to 4pm. More information from John on 01780 754641.

  • A valuer from Golding Young will be the speaker on Family Heirlooms at Bourne branch of the Lincolnshire Family History Society’s meeting at 7.30pm at the Baxter Room, Wake House, North Street, Bourne. This will be a short talk, followed by a chance to show an heirloom and find out whether it is valuable or just sentimental. Admission by donation. Raffle and refreshments.
