Managers Luke Hipwell and Scott Bogusz on their departure from Deeping Rangers
Departing bosses Luke Hipwell and Scott Bogusz felt their ambitions and those of Deeping Rangers were not aligned after leaving the club this week.
The management duo parted company after a mutual agreement with the United Counties League Premier Division North club.
They had been at the helm for nearly two seasons and leave Rangers on the cusp of the play-off places with eight games remaining.
Hipwell explained: "We'd had informal talks over the last month or so regarding next season and unfortunately the ambitions were not aligned.
"We mutually agreed to part ways. It would have been nice to see out the season but equally I totally understand the agreement which we came to."
The pair took over from Daniel French at the start of the 2022/23 season and led Deeping to two cup finals last term.
They leave the club with the Clarets six points adrift of the play-off spots with eight games of the season remaining.
Hipwell added: "I would like to thank the football club and we really appreciate them giving us our first managerial job.
"Deeping is a great club. It is very welcoming and the club has supported us throughout our tenure.
"We feel like it is a sad ending but, throughout our time, we have always tried to do what we felt was best for the football club.
"We are really grateful to the club, fans, players and the other members of our management team for all their support and efforts throughout our two seasons in charge.
"We feel that in both seasons we've punched above our weight.
"We felt that we had put squad a together this season which was more than capable of getting in and around the play-offs and we feel as if we've done that.
"We could have picked up a lot more points but we didn't do that for various reasons.
"There is still a chance of finishing in the top five and, when you look at the finances of the teams above us, we feel as if we've punched above our weight.
"However, we do feel that we could have been in a better place if small margins hadn't affected that."
Hipwell and Bogusz had recently added former Swaffham Town boss Johnny Alflatt to their management team.
Hipwell commented: "When the decision was made, it was something that we encouraged to keep Johnny on.
"He's been brilliant since he came to the football club and we wish him every success.
"We wish the football club all the best for the last eight games and obviously into the future as well and thank them for giving us this opportunity to manage the side."
Hipwell has also been pleased with the progression of the youngsters at the club during his tenure as part of the Clarets' pathway.
He said: "When we first came to the football club, we wanted to buy into the pathway that they wanted to create.
"Scott and I both have coaching backgrounds and we wanted to help develop the youth players.
"We feel as if we were open to that and, within the two seasons, we have given debuts to 11 players from either the Under 18s or the reserves.
"It has accumulated in more than 100 appearances for the football club over two seasons so we feel that we have bought into that.
"The likes of Joe Cole, Will Moxon, Josh Sennett and Kee Walker to name a few have a number of appearances this season which is something that we're proud of in that we've been able to help them in their paths into senior football."
Rangers return to United Counties League action on Saturday with a trip to face Heanor Town.
