Jordan Cooke has returned to Southern League Premier Division Central club Stamford AFC
Defender Jordon Cooke has returned to the Daniels who have been further boosted by captain Rob Morgan committing his future to the club.
Cooke has spent the past couple of seasons playing for Northern Premier League East Division side Cleethorpes Town following a successful spell at Stamford.
He left the Owls at the end of last season and manager Graham Drury was delighted to bring him back to the Zeeco Stadium.
Drury said: "Jordon has done well at Cleethorpes for the past couple of seasons but has decided he really wants to come back to Stamford.
"He feels like he needs a new challenge and we will welcome him back with open arms because he's very familiar with all of the lads and knows the dressing room.
"I know what sort of player that I am getting. He will give 110 percent every game and is another character in our group who will give everything which is what I want at this football club."
Drury was also thrilled that skipper Morgan was returning for another campaign despite plenty of interest from other clubs.
Morgan has played more than 240 games for the Daniels since joining in 2017 and wants to reach the 500-match landmark with the Southern League Premier Division Central club.
Drury commented: "There was a lot of hungry wolves chasing him so I am really pleased that Morgs has decided to stay.
"He is fully committed to the club and wants to be with us for the best years of his career.
"He sees himself as being at Stamford for a long time and wants to reach his 500th appearance for us.
"This is the only club which he wants to play for and it's been overwhelming how highly he speaks of myself and the club."
A number of players from last season have already committed to the club with Joe Burgess and Connor Bartle recently following on from James Blunden, Will Glennon, Harry Vince, Jack Duffy, Lee Shaw and Tendai Chitiza.
Rhys Hilton - who joined the club midway through last season - has signed for league rivals AFC Telford.
The Daniels have arranged a home pre-season friendly with League One neighbours Peterborough United for Friday, July 26.
