Daniels come back to share points with Trafford in 3-3 draw

Stamford AFC battled back from 2-0 down to grab a share of the points at home to Trafford on Saturday.

In a game where both sides were guilty of slooppy defending, the Daniels went behind after nine minutes when Ashley Mulholland’s cross was met by the unmarked Adam Jones and he tapped the ball home.

Five minutes later Stamford went further behind when Chris McDonagh headed home.

But their opponents were similarly lax at the back and the scores were level before the half-hour mark.

Firstly, Dan Clements won a penalty after being brought down in the box and Ryan Robbins made no mistake from the sport.

Then a Tom McGowan shot was turned back into the six yard box where Courtney Meade was able to slot home.

Two more goals in the final minute of the half meant the sides went in all square at the interval.

Andrew Smart fired Trafford back into the lead with a shot inside the box but the advantage was short-lived thanks to a fine goal from Ryan Robbins.

The striker beat two defenders on the right and shot powerfully to beat the keeper at the far post.

Stamford looked a much more convincing outfit after the interval, but despite having several chances there was no further scoring in the game, which finished 3-3.
