Stamford AFC are aiming to secure a place in the Southern League Premier Division Central play-offs
Stamford face a final game shoot-out in their bid to clinch a play-off place.
The Daniels travel to fellow top five hopefuls Mickleover on Saturday for their last match of the Southern League Premier Division Central campaign.
Just two points separates five teams vying for the last two play-off spots after a strong run of form from Graham Drury's side has kept their hopes alive.
The Daniels have won five of their last six league games and another victory on Saturday would clinch a play-off spot having already secured the club's highest-ever finish in their first season back at step three of the non-league pyramid.
Manager Drury said: "We wanted to take it to the last game of the season and it's now a one game shoot-out.
"I think we should automatically be in it so there is disappointment but there is also excitement.
"It's a dream where we are at for a lot of people at the football club but it is something that I expected if I'm honest because I know this group of players."
Stamford have again performed well in the second half of the campaign despite a series of injury setbacks which has ruled out several players for the rest of the season.
Drury added: "It is something we do since the turn of Christmas. We learn our lessons in the first part and then we're better in the second.
"We had a fantastic April apart from the Leamington game where they were big and strong.
"We've had so many missing but we've rolled our sleeves up. The squad has been fantastic and to keep 23 players happy when you can only use 16 each week is phenomenal and that's all down to the dressing room."
Fellow play-off hopefuls Leamington have a home match against AFC Sudbury who are battling against relegation in their final game on Saturday.
Redditch and Stratford are the other teams in the mix with the former hosting champions Needham Market while the Bards visit Royston Town.
Drury commented: "All we can do is concentrate on ourselves. If we win the last game then we're in it and that's the crux of it.
"Our goal difference is far superior to everyone else and we kept another clean sheet on Saturday which bodes well going into the last game.
"We've kept three or four clean sheets in the last seven games and that's something we weren't doing at the start of the season.
"It shows the strength of the squad and the desire of them. I always have a dressing room which is a pleasure to work with and I've got it again this year."
Saturday’s hosts Mickleover still require a victory to book their play-off spot after being hit by a 12-point deduction for fielding an ineligible player.
They are now on the same amount of points as Stamford following the Derbyshire side's victory at Needham Market last weekend.
Drury said: "What's going on there has galvanised them at Needham Market because they were picking up the trophy on Saturday and I expected them to win the game.
"Mickleover are a fantastic team and we need to bring our A game to the party again because it could be all the build-up for nothing otherwise.
"We need to have our work ethic, be pressing in numbers, and make sure that our physicality kicks in.
"There are a lot of elements to our game which have to be right to win a game of football against a very good side."
The Daniels held their presentation of player awards after Saturday's home victory over Hitchin with Lee Shaw landing a hat-trick of accolades.
He was named manager's player of the season by boss Graham Drury and also collected the players' player of the year award.
Shaw's trophy treble was completed when he took home the Arthur Twiddy Memorial Trophy for the supporters player of the year.
This award is named in memory of former Stamford chairman Arthur Twiddy and was presented by his son and current director Roger Twiddy.
Jack Duffy netted the leading goalscorer gong after scoring 16 times while the award for most man of the match performances went to Harry Vince during his 43 appearances this season.
