Stamford School pupil Bruce Dee has been in record-breaking form at his first Paralympic Games.

The sixth form student has twice broken his own British record in the men's SB6 100m breaststroke event in Paris.

Dee set a personal best in his heat to finish in third place which earned him a spot in the final where he produced another superb performance to take fifth in a British record time.

The 17-year-old had earlier finished fourth in the final of the men's SM6 200m individual medley after coming second in his heat.

It was his second major international appearance of the year after the Kettering-born athlete had made his debut at the European Para Swimming Championships in Madeira where he won his maiden medal.

Dee secured silver in the men's SM6 200m individual medley event while placing just outside the podium in fourth across a further four events in a busy racing programme.

Having emerged through the ranks at Northampton Swimming Club, Dee trains alongside double Paralympic champion Maisie Summers-Newton and the Humphrey twins, Scarlett and Eliza.
